Networking for growth - The Luxembourg BioHealth Cluster

The reinforced scientific excellence of Public Research Organisations of Luxembourg, namely the CRP Gabriel Lippmann, CRP Henri Tudor, CRP-Santé and the University of Luxembourg, and the Personalised Medicine Consortium (PMC), both bottom-up driving forces, contribute to progressively generating opportunities for existing local private actors, such as companies (mainly SMEs) with RDI capabilities that are active in the biotechnology, bioinformatics, telemedicine and medical devices domains. A young emerging biocluster, the Luxembourg BioHealth Cluster  undertakes networking activities that favour connectivity of the Luxembourg research community with other key actors of the value chain that are present in the national ecosystem:

The Cluster also contributes to increased international visibility and attractiveness of Cluster actors with the aim to position Luxembourg as an attractive prime location in Europe for Healthcare Biotech RDI activities and businesses. Since achieving a critical mass of biotech companies is a key priority to ensure the successful development of the Healthcare Biotech sector in Luxembourg, it is interesting to note that the national ecosystem will benefit in the near future from one key element that will reinforce its attractiveness to biotech companies: namely an  incubation facility  (expected to be ready in the third quarter 2012) supported by a dedicated management team which will be involved in both business coaching and technology transfer related activities.
