Working groups

Actors that are developing or willing to develop economic activities related to Health Sciences and Technologies need to know the strengths and the weaknesses of the ecosystem in which they are evolving. In order to ensure the development of a supportive framework able to attract and retain Biotech companies in Luxembourg, the identification of the challenges and bottlenecks associated with the specificities of the existing National ecosystem was defined as a priority for the BioHealth Cluster.

A working group, named Infrastructure , was therefore launched in Spring 2010 under the Cluster’s umbrella with the objective of identifying the main barriers that could still hamper the development of public and private actors that are active in Health Sciences and Technologies in Luxembourg. A reflection paper with a catalogue of 42 specific support actions recommendations addressing three specific domains, i.e.  (1) the general economic and financial context; (2) the human resource potential; (3) the access to risk capital, was produced in 2010.

The Cluster will contribute to support working group members in the elaboration of an Action Plan that will allow the implementation of these recommendations and in assessing the evolution of the National ecosystem for the successful development of Health Sciences and Technologies in Luxembourg.

Members of the BioHealth Cluster, as well as other actors that are developing activities in Health Sciences and Technologies in Luxembourg, can receive a copy of this reflection paper on request.

Other specific working groups associated with the development and implementation of the Cluster strategy will be launched during 2011.
